What this tool does

The Invoice Generator creates a clean, printable invoice from your business details, client details, invoice number and dates, line items, and optional tax and notes. It calculates subtotal, tax, and total automatically.

It is built for freelancers who need a professional invoice without signing up for accounting software. Print it directly, or save it as a PDF from your browser's print dialog.

No invoice data is stored on a server. Everything is generated in your browser, so client and financial information stays on your device.

How to use it

  1. Enter your business name and contact details, and the client's details.
  2. Add invoice number, issue date, and due date.
  3. Add one or more line items with quantity and rate.
  4. Optionally add a tax percentage and notes.
  5. Preview the invoice, then print or save as PDF.

How it works

  • Each line item total is quantity × rate. The subtotal is the sum of line totals.
  • Tax is calculated as subtotal × tax percentage, and the total is subtotal plus tax.
  • Dates are validated so an invalid date cannot break the invoice layout.

Example

Two line items — 10 hours at $90 and 1 strategy session at $150 — plus 8% tax produce a subtotal of $1,050, $84 tax, and a $1,134 total.

Common questions

Is my invoice data stored?
No. Everything runs in your browser. When you leave the page, the data is gone.
How do I download as PDF?
Use the Print button and choose "Save as PDF" in your browser's print dialog — it works everywhere without extra software.
Can I save invoices for later?
Not in this version. For recurring invoice storage, dedicated invoicing software may be a better fit.
