Article Outline Generator

Turn a topic into a complete article skeleton — H1, sections, sub-points, and FAQs.

What this tool does

The Article Outline Generator turns a topic, audience, article type, and desired depth into a structured outline. You get a working H1, an introduction angle, a list of H2 sections (with optional H3 sub-points), a conclusion, and suggested FAQ topics.

Outlines are the highest-leverage part of writing: they force you to decide the argument before you draft. This tool gives you a defensible starting structure in seconds, which you then adapt to your own expertise.

Like the other generators here, it runs on reusable templates rather than a remote AI model, so it is free, private, and predictable.

How to use it

  1. Enter your topic and target audience.
  2. Choose an article type: how-to guide, listicle, beginner guide, comparison, or case study.
  3. Pick a depth — Standard, Deep, or Very deep — to control H3 detail.
  4. Generate, then copy the outline into your editor and flesh out each section.

How it works

  • Each article type maps to a proven section pattern. For example, how-to guides follow: what it is, core principles, steps, mistakes, and tools.
  • Depth controls sub-points: Deep adds key-idea and example H3s to each section; Very deep also adds a common-objection sub-point.
  • The H1 and introduction are composed from your topic and audience so the result reads as a coherent plan, not a list of labels.

Example

Topic "cold email outreach", type "how-to guide", deep depth produces sections from "What cold email outreach is" through "Step 1: Prepare" to "Common mistakes to avoid".

Common questions

Can I edit the generated outline?
Absolutely — and you should. The outline is a starting structure. Add your own examples, data, and sections where they add value.
Does it write the article for me?
No. It builds the skeleton. Writing the prose is still your job — the outline just removes the blank-page problem.
Why are the FAQ topics included?
Answering common questions in your article can capture featured snippets in search and genuinely helps readers. The suggested topics are prompts to verify and answer yourself.
